Today Twixl team is launching Twixl Publisher 8, and is introducing a completely new approach to testing your apps. They replaced the Twixl App Reviewer by a new app, simply called Twixl.
From now on when you create a new project on the Twixl Distribution Platform, you can scan a QR code to preview it with the Twixl app. That way you’ll immediately see the full app experience on your mobile device, with zero configuration. You can also share a link to your app to allow others to preview as well.
Other new features are:
- Full-text search
- Deep linking from a push notification to a specific article or collection
- Segmented push by platform
Deep linking is a great improvement to make it easier to guide your readers directly to specific content in your app.
You can now send separate push notifications per platform (iOS/Android), the most obvious use case being to send a different web link or app store link to iOS and Android users.
TP8 also contains lots of under the hood changes, so our advice is definitely to update your app to make sure it reaps the benefits of the improved performance.
